Servicing the sensors is an annual requirement as per CAP 437 (App E72, Cap 437- 9th edition, Feb 2023).

Appendix E72 states ‘All primary and contingency sensors should be serviced by an engineer on at least an annual basis. Calibration should take place according to the instrument manufacturer’s recommendation. Cleaning and routine maintenance should take place according to the instrument manufacturer’s guidance; however, due to the harsh offshore environment, cleaning routines may have to be increased in certain conditions.
